Vengeance is Mine Says the Lord

Romans 12:19 (NLT):
“Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, ‘I will take revenge; I will pay them back,’ says the Lord.”

This verse teaches that we should not seek personal revenge when others wrong us. God alone has the authority to judge and repay evil. By releasing our desire for vengeance, we trust God's justice and timing. Trying to get even only feeds bitterness and can escalate conflict. Instead, we’re called to respond with peace, leaving the outcome in God's hands. This doesn’t mean ignoring wrongdoing, but rather choosing to act righteously and letting God handle justice. It challenges us to rise above retaliation and walk in faith, believing that God sees and will make all things right.
